Holt Nixon
Holt is a former U.S. Army Green Beret and Special Operations Multi-Purpose Canine (SOFMPC) handler who brings elite level experience to the world of professional dog training. A die-hard waterfowl hunter with a deep appreciation for working retrievers, his passion for dogs emerged before his military career. While serving as an active duty Green Beret he discovered the SOFMPC program - and from that moment on, he knew exactly where he wanted to be.
That path led him to train and deploy alongside some of the military’s most capable working dogs, while getting the opportunities to study under many of the most respected trainers in the field, such as Pat Nolan, Jerry Bradshaw, and Jacob Robinson.
Today, as a certified police canine instructor and trainer, Holt offers a specialized and results-driven approach to canine and handler development, shaped by a blend of scientific techniques and real-world operational experience.
On the retriever side of the house, Holt puts a strong emphasis on building both drive and control. Developing steady hunting retrievers with modern methods to be capable of excelling in any field or sport environment while maintaining responsiveness, reliability, and enjoyment in the work.
From loyal family companions to precision trained working dogs, Holt delivers training grounded in science, clarity, and performance at the highest level.
